if you build it, they will come
And, boy, have they come! In the culinary industry, bringing your brand to an emerging hotspot is a no-brainer. And for those who have chosen this small town with a big heart as their new home, the longstanding, established hometown eateries were definitely on the "pros" side of the list that ultimately led them to say, "Let's move to Liberty Hill!"
If ChatGPT has your head spinning as it tries to navigate the well-saturated market of nearby dining options, we're here to save you some trouble and walk you through our top ten list of some of the most unique and splendid restaurants on the local map. Ready? Get set.... LET'S GO!
Number ten: Agape bbq

If truly local craft barbecue is on your cravings list, your mecca awaits just outside of downtown Liberty Hill. With an absolutely jam-packed menu of stunning meats and sides paired beautifully with local craft beers and wines, your next night out will leave you with a full belly, a warm heart, and some irreplaceable memories of that evening spent under a canopy of 300-year-old oak trees. So saddle up and ride - the meats await!
number nine: munch munch waffles & more

For those that think a waffle is a waffle, prepare to have your mind changed, and most likely blown. In fact, your jaw will drop further and further simply perusing the menu! From traditional Belgian and Liege waffles to the most incredible pairings and concoctions, you're going to want to try one of everything. A similar breakfast bistro won't be found in a one-thousand mile radius, make no mistake. The veteran team of owners has knocked this concept completely out of the park, and the crowds continue to go wild over these one-of-a-kind menu items that will make breakfast your new favorite meal. If you aren't grabbing your keys right now, you might want to rethink some things and get that schedule cleared for an early afternoon food coma. Enjoy!
Number eight: Elenita's

Anyone who's lived in Liberty Hill for over five years now will remember Elena's Mexican Restaurant. Located where El Mariachi's now operates, Elena's was a local favorite for so many. From the warm and welcoming staff, to the quiet and friendly atmosphere, it was a regular spot for countless patrons. And their food? To die for! From the enchiladas to the bistec a al mexicana, there wasn't anything less than stellar on the menu. Sadly, Elena's closed their doors a few years ago, but all was made right in the world again when Elenita's, their new food truck, was announced. Located just down the road from their original brick and mortar location, those same delectable recipes can be shared amongst family and friends again - ahh, what a relief. Whether you grab some tacos to go or if you're dining on one of their many picnic tables, just be sure to get there and order anything at all. Trust me, nothing will disappoint. Well, what are you waiting for?
number seven: Jardin Corona

Continuing with the Mexican theme, Jardin Corona is an O.G.. Back when the choices of places to eat could only be counted on one hand, Jardin Corona was a top contender, and they're staying power has been admirable as they have grown right alongside the Liberty Hill community. With their expansive dining space that can hold even the biggest parties, to their delicious Tex-Mex plates and eye-popping cocktails, this is the place for Happy Hour, Breakfast or Brunch, Dinner, Celebrations - you name it, and they can accommodate it. So if a night of laughter and indulgence is in order, head on over to "Jardin's", as the locals call it, and make it one for the record books!
number six: liberty tavern

Liberty Tavern's evolution since their inception has led it to become one of the top spots to eat and drink in town. Their classic American cuisine can satisfy any craving for a down-home, comforting meal and their impressive selection of draft beers will bring a smile to even the most discerning connoisseur. The service is always with a smile, and their outdoor area ensures that a good time is had by all, regardless of age. So whether you're pulling up a chair at the bar, meeting an old friend for a chat under the trees or looking for a fun, family-friendly night out, Liberty Tavern has you covered. Pro tip: Order a burger, any burger (they're all wonderful), and pair it with a Paulaner Pilsner - you're welcome.
number five: slot-t beer co.

Slot-T Beer Co. has seen a long and somewhat turbulent road during their quest to find their identity, but they have hit the nail on the head and are firing on all cylinders as of lately. Not only are they Liberty Hill's only true craft brewery (yes, their beers are brewed onsite), but their menu is watering every mouth that walks through the door. Their flagship brews offer something for everyone, and I'll save you the trouble and guide your eyes to the Sunrise Burger -or - The Green Chile Burger (pictured above). Take one of these and pair it with a Kaddyshack Kolsch, and you're in business, my friends. Located in the heart of downtown main street, it's a must-visit place that will easily become a regular spot to scratch that craft beer itch. Cheers!
number four: Wish kitchen & bar

Okay, folks - buckle up. We're taking a trip out of this world and into the mind of three gentlemen that have turned the expected into the unexpected, and in all the right ways. Led by a father and his two sons, you're going to be mesmerized by the unimaginable dishes and the killer craft cocktails. Your vocabulary will soon be reduced to "wow" and "oh my gosh" and very little else. When they ask if you want to try the Potato Pave (pictured above), just smile and nod your head. In fact, order two, and then add the Shrimp Wontons to your appetizer selection. Don't ask questions - just do it. You can thank me by making me your real estate agent ;). The atmosphere is cozy and community-centric, and you'll leave with a brand new idea of what can happen when boundaries are pushed and flavors are married in cosmic ways. So get ready for takeoff!
number three: happy wok asian diner

What top ten list would be complete without some yummy Asian cuisine? Well, here you go! Happy Wok is, in my opinion, one of the best Asian restaurants in Central Texas and beyond. They never disappoint with the quality and consistency of everything they offer, and the vast array of menu choices cover the entire region, something I like to call a win-win! Their dining room is always packed with seated diners and those eager to grab their to-go orders, and the staff is always hustling to please them all. It's a wonderful place that really rounds out the eccentric selection of local eateries that span the entire spectrum. The Jalapeno Beef is top notch, but, then again, so is everything else. Just get there and find out for yourself. Happy times at the Happy Wok await!
number two: liberty hill beer market

Ah, The Beer Market. Now, don't let the name fool you... Yes, they have tons of beers on tap, but they also have a full bar, a great wine selection, and the food - THE FOOD!! Their Italian/Mediterranean cuisine alongside plenty classic American favorites are not what you'd expect from the typical local watering hole. But The Liberty Hill Beer Market is far from typical, and they win the award for the most vibrant atmosphere and the most amazing food to boot. They make their own dough every day, and their ingredients are fresh and plentiful. This place is the poster child for a place where a community comes together to celebrate itself, every single day. It's impossible not to have a great time here, so put it on your list of places you can't miss. In fact, just throw away that list and get to The Beer Market. You'll get it the second you walk through the door.
number one: dahlia cafe

For as long as most can remember, Dahlia Cafe has been the anchor that has brought countless people to Liberty Hill for the very first time. The masses continue to come from far and wide just to dine here, and anyone who has done the same will completely understand. From the most incredible comfort food to the homemade pies, Dahlia Cafe is where it's at, hands down. If the food wasn't enough in its own right, the outdoor dining areas are in a league of their own. From the majestic oaks to the Texas night sky, an evening to remember is waiting to be made - all you have to do is type it into your navigation map and hit "start". Words and pictures will never do this place justice, so you HAVE to go find out for yourself. You can't call yourself a Liberty Hillian until you do. So make no delay and get to the spot that started it all in this town like no other. Take it all in, and welcome home.
