the liberty hill lasso
your monthly roundup of all things new and noteworthy in liberty hill, texas - the small town with the biggest heart
Ah, September. What a welcome arrival for us all. Although it may still feel as if the heat has no intention of moving out once its lease is up, it's that time of year when those subtle changes in scenery and, if we're lucky, some falling temperatures give us that glimmer of hope that Fall is coming. And I think I speak for us all when I say we couldn't be more ready to welcome it with open arms (SERENITY NOW!).
Regardless of whether or not the heat decides to play nicely, September ushers in so much. The kids are settling into the new school year, the Friday Night Lights beckon, and the excitement of the upcoming holiday season starts to fill our hearts and minds. Above all else, it seems to signal a shift towards a bit slower pace. Early-to-bed school nights, Sundays spent on the couch cheering on your favorite NFL team while those slow-smoked meats water the mouths of the entire block, and, again, IF we're lucky enough, those late sunsets by the pool are traded in for a warm and cozy evening in your favorite sweater.
As welcome as these changes are, this incredible town slows down for no one, and there is never a shortage of events for every age group and walk of life. So saddle up as we ride our way through what's going on this month. Giddy-up, partner!
It has begun... A new rivalry is born!

I grew up right here in Liberty Hill, and if anyone would've ever told me that Liberty Hill would one day be so big that it had two rivaling high schools, I would've passed out from laughing so hard. That, or I would've shaken my head in disbelief with the most puzzled look on my face. But, here we are and here-we-go! LHHS has a long and impressive pedigree, so expectations have always been high for the boys in purple and gold. But Legacy Ranch, albeit the new kid in town, has built a fine program under the leadership of Head Coach Tim Knicky, so my guess is that this small town has one action-packed night in store!
Technically, the varsity showdown won't happen until October 2nd at 7pm, but that gives us all September long to build our excitement all the way to the brink of spontaneous combustion! It's going to be one for the record books, so mark your calendars now!
A "Super" way to spend a Saturday morning!

Continuing the theme of "things I would've laughed hysterically at over 30 years ago", I was stunned (and quite pleased) to find out that Liberty Hill has its very own supercar dealership. That's right; if you're in the market for a Ferrari, Porsche or otherwise, you don't even have to leave the city limits! I keep telling y'all: This town has everything and more!
Every first Saturday of the month, NG Supercars hosts a meetup for car owners and enthusiasts alike. Whether you have a supercar of your own, are thinking of one day purchasing one, or just want to feast your eyes on the high-end design and engineering of some of the coolest autos on the planet, you're invited to swing by, grab a cup of coffee and chat it up with the other like-minded folks that appreciate the finer things in life.
For more information, visit NG Supercars. That, or plan on finding out in person this coming Saturday at 9:00AM at 751 Stubblefield Ln. Vroom vroom, y'all!
September's "Neighborhood of the Month" - Cascade by Brohn

Tucked neatly just off County Road 207 in Northern Liberty Hill, Cascade is quickly coming along, and inventories are stacking up with some killer incentives for those looking to buy their own slice of the American pie. Oh, and did I mention that these homes, with over 14 floorplans to choose from, start at $260K?! That price point for a brand new home in Central Texas has become quite the rare commodity, so get a move on and head over to this affordable yet loaded-with-amenities community that simply cannot disappoint. With up to $40K off and Flex Cash incentives, there may not be a better time to buy! Check out their website for all the details or Contact Us for the most custom tailored buying experience. Happy hunting!
Cowboy Up!

On Saturday, September 19th at 6:00PM, The 5th Annual Norton Moses Memorial Bull Riding Faceoff will take place at 258 N US Hwy 183 in Liberty Hill. Complete with Bull Riding, Mutton Busting, and Calf Scramble, the action will be nonstop and fun for the entire family! There will be live music and food, so come prepared for a well-rounded rodeo experience! Yeehaw!!
Move over, Summer. You've had your turn!

We've all heard of the Rain Dance, but I often wonder if there's a similar ancient Native American ritual that kindly convinces Summer to get on down the road and let some cooler temps have a turn at gracing us Central Texans with some relief. Enough already, am I right?!
Well, regardless of the climate, Liberty Hill's Fall Community Day is sure to be a grand occasion for one and all. There will be food from local restaurants, live music from local musicians, family activities, and several non-profit groups there to spread their missions further into the community. So let's do what we do best and show this area what community is all about. The event will take place on Saturday, September 26th at Liberty Hill Community Plaza, and more information can be found here. See y'all there!
